affect by HIV/AIDS
within poor
communities by

their spiritual, physical,
emotional and
economic needs.

Multiplying value through others
|
Her day starts as early as 4am, when most people are making another turn in their beds for just that final dream before day breaks. This is a routine that Naomi has developed over a long period of time. It has enabled her be ahead of the pack in her business.
Being a hard and smart working woman Naomi has grown her business from the basics to a wide spread network of wool suppliers, wool carders, spinners and yarn buyers. This began twenty five years ago when she began her wool spinning business using a manual spinning wheel. The process began with purchase of wool from Nakuru town which is about three hours drive from Nairobi. She would pack the wool into 90kilogram bags which would be ferried to her home in Kibera through public transport. This helped her save on cost though it was a tedious process. Her next step would then be to card the wool making it smooth and then spinning it. She had specific buyers of the yarn.
